The Kiln project explores natural material resources available on the southwest English coast. Through heat, the kiln transforms available flora and minerals, along with construction by-products, into elements of further utility.

The resulting brick and cob up-draft kiln is a constant work in progress and periodically modified for changes in use. The current configuration can fire up to stoneware temperatures for bisqueware, glazeware, raku ceramics, along with glazes refined from the wood ash of previous firings.

Local clays extracted from on-site are fired and tested for their potential as building material.
